Hey everyone!! This has been a super crazy week!!!
This last pday we were just moving the whole day, and I spent the rest of the day with my zone leaders!! I had to say goodbye to my trainer! That will be ok though because he is in the area next to mine, so I will still see him pretty often!
In the morning on Tuesday, I had to travel all the way to Quito, by MYSELF!! that was kinda scary, navigating through a huge city that I’ve never really been to. Anyway, I found my way to the big church building, and met all the other trainers there!!! It was so cool being a part of the group with everyone with so much experience. After a few hours, President showed up with all of the greenies! (I’m still a greenie haha!) Anyway we were in meetings the entire day! At the end of the day, I finally met my new companion!! he is super cool! He is from here in Ecuador, Guayaquil. Being from the coast, he speaks crazy, crazy fast and I can only understand about 10% of what he says, haha. Anyway, Its been a little bit of a rough start with him, but I am excited to have him to help me improve my spanish a lot more!
On Wednesday morning, we both got on the big bus back to Otavalo, then to San Pablo! On our first day, we did some contacting and found some new people!
Thursday, we had another zone conference and I got to see some people I haven’t seen since the mtc! After the conference we had a few lessons and went to bed that night! Every night, as district leader I get to call the hermanas in my district every night and report a lot of stuff ! My greenie gets to sleep early like I did while I do stuff, just like I would with my trainer haha!!
On Friday, we had correlation with the ward mission leader! After we just had about a normal day.
Saturday, we had a full day of lessons and every single one fell! we just ended up contacting most of the day!! We walked more in one day than I ever had. This week actually we had a lot of success contacting, and we found 3 new families!!
Sunday: We went to church, then after, I had to conduct a baptism interview my first week as district leader! I was super nervous! It went very well, and I realized that its just like talking to any other person! It was super easy! Anyway after that we ate lunch and did our studies. In the night we had a lesson and tried putting a date with the same family that we’ve been trying with for months! They still didn’t accept, and it was pretty frustrating. That night I had to get a ton of information from my district to send today. That took forever and I was up until 11:30.
Its been a crazy, crazy week ! I’m super happy to have some responsibilities and to be training! I love being here in Ecuador, and serving the people! I’m so thankful for all you all do and for the support you give to me!!
I love you all,
Elder Curtis
