¡Buenos Días!!!!!!!
This week was goood and bad haha, as always!!! On Tuesday we put 4 dates with an amazing family!! Their baptism is scheduled for the 16th of November!!!! however, we have changes in two weeks…. My training will end this change so most likely one of us is gonna get changed somewhere else… (I’m really hoping to stay haha!!) I would however be fine with it if I got to go to the jungle!!!!!!
The rest of the week honestly didn’t go all that great… Nothing to exciting happened during the week, but on Saturday we ate lunch at our investigators house (they always feed us way too much food, and its awesome!!!!) Anyway we were talking and the head honcho of the house, Luis went out back and came in with three dead cuy!!!!!!!!!!!!(guinea pig) haha so guinea pig is supposed to be like the absolute delicacy of Ecuador. Long story short, my companion has been here for 16 months and this was his first time eating it because it is crazy, crazy expensive… It was pretty good, there’s just not very much meat on it. Anyway we also have been trying to put a date on this family for a while, but we just got the feeling that we need to wait a little bit longer for the dad to feel more comfortable with it….
You know at the beginning of the week we were just like “woohoo we are gonna put 7 dates this week and we gotta schedule them for the second so we can get these baptisms before transfers… ” It just goes to show, and I have learned that really the number of baptisms you get doesn’t matter, we are just here to help the people. I need to keep going on and humble myself so we can fulfill that purpose of just helping people. And, although we did not put a date with the other family, we told them that we had changes in two weeks and they just told us that we were like their family, and to tell the truth haha the mom, Alicia has basically been like another mom to us. The relationships you make on the mission are so precious and I will be super sad to leave if I get changed, but I’m super glad I have had these experiences here in San Pablo. I’m also super grateful for my amazing trainer, Elder Ahrens. I will always remember the relationships I’ve made thus far, and I look forward to seeing their progression in the gospel.
On Sunday we went to church, and had a family come that we’ve been trying to get come forever!!! We can family say that they are progressing, and we are excited to teach them later this week and find out their experiences!! Later in the day we did weekly planning and a couple other lessons.
Overall, its been a pretty good week, and this is basically all thats happened. Thank you all for your support!!! Until next week!!!!!
Elder Curtis
