Christmastime in Ecuador

Before starting Bryant’s letter, it has come to our attention that no one visits Bryant’s photo gallery. We keep this updated with many more images than on his blog posts. Here is the link and it is accessed by one of the four buttons, ‘Photo Gallery,’ as well. Enjoy!

Hey everyone!!! This week has been crazy! On Wednesday it was just kind of a normal day… not much happened besides all of our appointments falling.

On Thursday We taught a few people then in the night we headed of to the zone leaders house and stayed there with the ZL’s and my trainer and his companion.

On Friday in the morning the whole zone left together to go to Quito! That was super fun! When we finally made it to the chapel, we all got interviews for about ten minutes each. After all the interviews we headed to the President’s house and ate an awesome lunch. After the lunch we played white elephant!!1 It was super similar to the one we played at home, so I was glad to be able to do that… After that we did the nativity scene and a musical number. Then everyone left except our zone so we could finish our interviews. We ended up staying at his house until about 7:30. We got domino’s on the way to the terminal and took a bus back to Otavalo. We got back to the zone leaders’ house and stayed up til 2 having fun.

In the morning we headed went way to this place called Cayambe as a zone and did a zone activity. We sang hymns while some others contacted the people in the park. That was fun. Then after we ate doughnuts and had lunch with everyone in the restaurant there. We picked up the sweet zone shirts we made then headed back to our areas to get to work.

On Sunday we went to church and the Hermanas gave their testimonies because they both left for changes. So for changes I’m staying here training and district leader… The Hermanas both left and they are putting elders into that area. I am also over the 2 elders from way over in Cayambe now! I’m super excited because that means I get to do at least 5 interchanges every change with my new district, and I love Cayambe!

On Monday I gave my district council to the entire zone because the zl’s left and I’m acting as zone leader until they get here on Wednesday. But it was sad to see the Hermanas leave cuz its been a fun change with them. But after that I had to send in the info for the whole zone and for my district. Later in the day we were working and I just started feeling so so sooo sick all the sudden. We were giving a lesson outside a house in their yard and I had to sit down. We got done with the lesson really quick and we walked about 50 feet and I fell on all fours and just started throwing up over and over. we made it to a bus stop and took a thirty minute bus ride back to the house. I was throwing up constantly from about 6 until 9ish and i have never felt so sick in my life. I didn’t sleep much but I’m starting to get better!

but that was my week! I’m excited for Christmas and my new district of 6!!!! I will be a lot busier now, but the busier, the faster the time goes by!!!

Love,

Elder Curtis
