Week 2 – MTC

Yellow fever shot with matching Looney Toones bandaid 👌

Hey everyone! The MTC life is treating me well here at the MTC so far… sort of haha! The schedule is finally staying pretty much the same everyday! We have three hours of class each morning then lunch then an hour or so of study then we are off to work out around 2:40-3:40 each day. After that we shower and get ready again. We usually have another hour and a half of study that always gets used up and its hard to catch up on everything! We then go to dinner then end the day with another three hours of class at least. We have had a lot of zone meetings tho after that in the residences and our study time at night is always taken up! We have to have lights off at 10:30 and that has been tough with so much that we have to do! With our schedules so packed, the week has flown by! My Spanish has been improving so much! Yesterday we did an English fast which means we spoke no English at all for the whole day! That actually helped so much! My companion and I at least are good enough where we can understand each other and were carrying on conversation throughout the day in Spanish! Anyway… We are starting TRC this next Monday in Spanish! That’s when we are actually teaching people the lessons! I’m definitely kinda nervous about it! Praying hard that our investigator has an open heart and that he can be patient with us because I have a feeling that we have a long way to go in Spanish! I also have to lead a discussion in our district meeting tomorrow! That is in English though! thankfully haha! My memorization of Spanish has gotten a lot better as well! I memorized the baptismal invitation in 15/20 minutes and practicing the memorizations every day has really solidified it in our minds ! The food here has been making me pretty sick as well. My stomach has not been happy! But we are surviving! I am currently learning how to do laundry again today (Mom i forgot everything but its not complicated tho! Haha!) Theres always a point where I am feeling pretty down and overwhelmed in the day but I always say a prayer and turn to the Book of Mormon and those feelings go away fast! I wanna share something from my study this week that I loved and have been pondering a lot on! In Exodus 4:10-12 it says:

10 And Moses said unto the Lord, O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the Lord?
12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.

Everyday in the MTC!

I love these scriptures about the gift of tongues! That is something we are all praying for here in the MTC whether we are learning a new language or not! I have already seen a glimpse of this blessing in my life this last week as we have done mock lessons or verbal tests or memorizations. I know that if I keep working hard the Lord will help me to reach my goals! I love this gospel and I’m so glad I can be part of this great dispensation! The church has reached two million missionaries and I cannot think of anything greater that I could be doing in the prime years of my life! I am so great full for the support and love that I get from back home! I can feel the effects of the prayers arhat are said on my behalf and I cannot thank everyone enough! I love all of you I hope that you may all have a great week! I want to invite everyone to find a way that you can become closer to our Savior! We always have something that we can learn!

Much love
